Yard Sales!!

I know I'm corny that I took pictures of the items that I bought while yard saling but I had to show everyone the great deals I got. Lacey, my mom and I got up Saturday morning and headed out at about 6:20. There were 34 yard sales that morning (of course we didn't go to all of them but about 10 or 15 of them!). Only a few that we didn't find something! We gave Lacey $5 to spend and loaded the addresses into the GPS and went on our way to find some great deals, and we did. I'm going to post some of my favorite things but there are a lot of things I didn't take pictures of just for the sake of not over doing it! This is what I found that I didn't take pictures of....a rack that holds sodas in the refrigerator, a purse, a beautiful black and white skirt, several pairs of shorts, one pair of capris, a dance video and mat for Lacey, wire organizer rack, a $5 grill for Zane (it is the perfect size to take canoeing or on a small camping trip, his friend joked at him because he called it a "pink" grill...it's red that's been faded and only $5, you can't go wrong with that!), Lacey a brand new pair of Dora tennis shoes, some kitchen towels with the tags still on them, a necklace making bead set for Lacey, some books and various other things that I can't think of at the moment!
This is a picture I bought for $3. It is huge! That's an 8x10 frame sitting beside it. I got the other frame for 50 cents! I hung this picture up in my room. It makes me think I can walk out into a beautiful courtyard! Another large picture that I got for $3. A lot of my walls are bare so this will help!Ok, so I'm undecided on these curtains. I absolutely LOVE the color and that they are damask material but I haven't been able to find some tie backs that I like. Don't laugh at the cord I'm using now cause I'm going to find something else to tie them back. But I got these curtains for a dollar!! I looked at Walmart and they didn't have any this nice or the thickness but each panel cost $17-$30 each! These were so new they still had the wrinkle marks where they had been folded in the package! They must have not fit the window and the person didn't take them back! I'm still undecided if I want to use them in my bedroom too because I have 3 mini blinds but don't really know what to do curtain wise. If I don't keep them in my bedroom I will put them in the living room and spare bedroom. They will be perfect there, but still only a dollar!

I bought this shelf for 50 cents at a yard sale that upon first glance I thought "they aren't going to have anything"! This is the same yard sale I got the beautiful skirt from! Anyway, the shelf was black and I really don't have any black furniture so I had some stone spray paint and painted it. I think it turned out good. Once again 50 cents! Wow! (Dad and MaryLynne, I put your picture on there!)

As I stated in the last post, Lacey and Madison have had this thing with Batman ever since I had to make a Batman cake. Well Lacey found this costume at a yard sale for 50 cents. It's a little big but she loves to dress up in it and have the muscles! Oh, how I love those abs! Prettiest Batman ever!

Got all of this for $4 and would you believe that not a piece is missing from these games? Except the funny bone in Operation but I think Lacey lost that! Operation cost $20 at Walmart and so does the Whac-a-Mole game, so a steal in my opinion.
And this chair with the tag dangling from it. We have 2 of these already but Lacey wanted another one and had her money, so we got another chair to add to our collection. We will take it to the beach next week!
That was all of my yard sale stuff and now on to a different topic. This recipe is for Lynn. She is always asking me for something different and how to cut back in fat in her recipes so here is this one. I LOVE this soup and it was sooo easy. I found it in a Weight Watchers recipe book that MaryLynn gave me. It's called 5 ingredients and 15 minutes (my favorite!). All it is is turkey sausage (I'm sure you can use whatever but the turkey sausage was lean and had a good flavor), a can of fat free chicken broth, rotel tomatoes (I put mine in the blender a little cause I don't like chunky tomatoes), a can of black beans (rinsed), the recipe called for green peppers but I used an onion instead and I also added a half of a can of corn. I cooked the onion and sausage together a little then through everything else in a pot and heated it up, then grilled me 2 quesadillas using fat free cheese (I know, that part stinks, but you can use real cheese if you must). It was delicious! It has a lot of spice because of the rotel tomatoes so go lightly if you try to season it with anything! It really shouldn't need any spices but I did add some black pepper!

Wow! Maybe I should have taken the time to go before we left! You got some really great stuff. We definitely need to try it again next month! The soup sounds delicious, but my picky butt husband may not like it. We'll see! :)

Lacey woke me up at 5:38 to go yard selling. She said "Granny get up and lets go yard selling!"
She had a great time spending her money and ours too.
